Don't Progress, Instead Return to the Ancient Paths

It may be 2021 and we may have made lots of progress technologically, but there are many ancient truths that will not bend:

-Boys are still boys.

-Girls are still girls.

-There is still only one way to Heaven.

-The Bible is the only source of absolute truth.

-Racial reconciliation will never happen apart from reconciliation to the Father.

-Unforgiveness still keeps you captive.

-Sin is still sin.

-Pride still comes before destruction.

-Looking inward for answers is still not as helpful as looking upward.

-And the best news of all: JESUS is still in the business of saving and setting captives free

As the divide between believers and unbelievers deepens, may Christ-followers stand firm on the foundation of the Word of God, and not bow to culture in the hopes of being accepted. Let’s not forget that Jesus, our savior, was rejected even in His own hometown.

The truth is, you are either progressing away from culture and toward Christ or progressing away from Christ and toward culture. And if you choose to progress toward Christ, just remember Jesus said the world would hate you for it

Moral progressivism is simply taking steps away from God and His original design - so if we are stepping away from God’s best, can we actually call this progress?

We don’t need morally progressive Christians in 2021. We need Christians who are willing to return to the Ancient of days. Who are willing to walk the ancient paths- those paths that have proven themselves over and over again.

Romans 12:2- “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Jeremiah 6:16- “Thus says the Lord: ‘Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls.’”
