Are You Hungry?

WOMEN ARE BRAVE AND CAPABLE OF DOING HARD THINGS.png

It was on my bucket list for years to make bread from scratch, and it only took a worldwide shutdown for me to slow down enough to accept the challenge.

Although we have made intentional decisions to slow down as a family over the last several months, this quarantine has revealed to me the restlessness that is still in my soul.

Like yeast rising in the dough, the areas of doubt, unbelief and control have risen to the surface of my heart. Do I really trust the Lord for our provision? Do I really believe that He is our strength and shield? Do I really trust Him for our protection?

And the longer the dough sits, the more apparent the yeast becomes…

But here’s the good news.

The yeast doesn’t have to be bad yeast. Our hearts can actually be filled with good yeast.

Instead of fear coming to the surface in times of hardship, faith can.

Instead of doubt, trust can.

Instead of restlessness, quiet contentment can.

But we must be intentional about renewing our minds with the truth of God’s Word.

-> Distraction does not prepare us for fruitfulness. <-

Only daily time with God in worship & prayer & the reading of His Word can produce good yeast.

And we need to be filled with good yeast more than ever because in a time where so many are overtaken by fear & anxiety, God is calling His people to RISE.

God is calling His people to be a pleasing AROMA to those around them.

God is calling His people to FEED others with the truth of His Word.

In this time of social distancing will you choose to get close to the Father?

Will you be honest as you evaluate what’s inside your heart?

Will you yield to the kneading process and allow the Lord to deal with the yucky stuff?

Deuteronomy 8:3 says,

“Man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”

Will you choose to feed on the only one who truly satisfies?

Taste and see that the Lord is good!
